terre d’Oc is the name of the French company whose home fragrances were created in 1995, and organic cruelty-free, skin care and makeup was added to their product line in 2002.
Locations: the first store opened in Paris, France, then another opened in Septermber of 2011 in New York.
terre d’Oc has also just set up stores in Lisbon, Aveiro and Taipei.
terre d’Oc generously sent two products for me to sample and review.Deux produits une grande beauté! That’s all the French I’ll attempt in this review: Two great beauty products!
terre d’Oc sent Gloss Sublime, Shine Lip Gloss in Peche Ponji and Eye Kohl (which, should be noted they call, Prune, in their shop) in the color, Marron Sikkim.
Here’s some background on terre d’Oc. First the name: earth (terre) and its orchres, the plant world and its pigments. terre d’Oc offers a complete range of natural and safe colors make-up.
For those in the US, here’s the certification system for their cosmetic products. They are made according to the COSMEBIO charter; they are certified “organic cosmetics” by ECOCERT. That means that they contain at least 95% of ingredients of natural origin, or from Organic Farming.
Following the GMP, which stands for the Good Manufacturing Practices, in the European Cosmetics Directive, terre d’Oc products are manufactured, packaged and stored following measures adapted to their use and specificity. What that means to you, as a customer, is that terre d’Oc can guarantee, the ingredients and manufacturing processes of their cosmetics. All of their cosmetics and makeup are eco-certified!
Eco Design: terre d’Oc products have packaging from managed and certified forests; solvent-free vegetable inks, and instructions printed on the inside of the boxes.
terre d’Oc has five colors available:
The brown-colored one, Marron Sikkim, is what I sampled.
Try as I might, I cannot find anything at all that one might not like about this product. It’s enriched with sweet almond and pistachio oil, which provide the softness when you apply it to your eyes. It’s also a great design, as I could easily hold it and get a great line. terre d’Oc has glosses & lipsticks, which are enriched with Argan and sweet almond oil. (Pictured above)
I sampled and love: Gloss Sublime, Shine Lip Gloss in Peche Ponji.
The gloss, which is one of seven colors available, is inspired by Kamar Solek, the makeup of the Balinese princesses. This beautiful, shaded gloss is enriched with coconut butter. That serves to both make your lips shine and make them incredibly soft! I liked that terre d’Oc used a micronized mother-of-pearl which provides a shiny, but “sophisticated,” look to lips. The applicator is great, and I had no issues even testing it to see if I could break off the applicator . No joke, I’ve had that happen with my own products from other companies.
Ways to connect with terre d’Oc:
Facebook-unless you’re fluent in French, make sure you visit their page in English!
Here’s the Facebook Page in French
Most certainly, terre d’Oc is a company I not only 100% recommend, but also would purchase products from on my own.
