Wow! I saw the name: Eye-Illuminating Duo, on one side of the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics box that was sent to me to review. I was thrilled to see Paraben Free and Cruelty Free on another side of the box! I tried to resist yanking it out of the box to see exactly what it was. Here’s a photo of what I found:
Net Wt. .10oz/3g.
What is the Eye-Illuminating Duo?
This is a new dual-ended pencil to help transform tired-looking features by brightening, reflecting light, and accentuating. It can be used as an eyeshadow base; to highlight, and to brighten.
The oversized pencil has two neutral tones. One end is the Shimmer, which is an iridescent champagne-beige.
The other end is Matte, a pink-nude.
So, is Youngblood’s dual-ended pencil, a “Master of Illusion,” as advertised? Yes! The Eye-Illuminating Duo absolutely works! If you take the pencil and apply shimmer in the corner of your eyes, and then blend, it enhances your eyes by brightening them.
The same technique can be used to apply the Eye-Illuminating Duo under your brow bones. It gives the illusion of your brows being lifted. The trick is to be light-handed with your application, and then blend. Don’t use it like it’s a crayon and start drawing on your face. That will not highlight or brighten.
The dual-ended pencil may also be used as an eyeshadow base. Apply to bare lids and blend with a concealer brush.
Another other way that I used the pencil in the picture below is with the Matte end of the Duo. I used it to brighten the lower inner rim of my eye.
The formula is very creamy. It includes:
*Mango Seed Oil, which is an emollient skin conditioner with antioxidant properties.
*Macademia Nut Oil, a plant extract that is hydrating.
*Microcrystalline Wax is what is used to provide a solid-smooth texture so you’re not tugging at your delicate eye areas to apply the color.
