Lush Cosmetics: The Gorilla Perfumers Have New Fragrances

Available now, and exclusively online, nine new fragrances from the Gorilla Perfumers, Mark and Simon Constantine, who a father and son team. They created all of their perfumes for Lush Cosmetics to be, “an antidote to boring, mass-market scents.”

I have not yet tried any of these fragrances from Lush Cosmetics, but I wanted to call them to your attention. The only downside I can comment on, at this time, is that I’m sure it will disappoint some fans that these are only available online.

1000 Kisses Deep
($39.95 30 ml/$15.95 10 ml/ $12.95 solid/ $3.00 2ml)

This is described as, “An exquisite and delicate apricot-note from osmanthus blossoms, combined with a touch of mandarin and deep resins, expresses the complexities of true love.”

B Scent
($42.95 30 ml/$16.95 10 ml/$12.95 solid/$3.00 2 ml)

This is described as, “A stylish and utterly feminine combination of rose tempered with notes of lemon, bergamot, fennel and sandalwood.”

($39.95 30 ml/$15.95 10 ml/$13.95 solid/$3.00 2 ml)

Mark Constantine writes that this is,“a beautiful dress-up fragrance; a final gesture in the ritual of preparing to go out for a special evening. The leading lady in this scent is ylang ylang followed by notes of jasmine, rose, orange blossom, oakmoss and sandalwood.”

Dear John
($39.95 30 ml/$15.95 10 ml/$3.00 2 ml)

This fragrance contains a splash of pine, cedarwood and vetivert with a strong coffee note.

($12.95 solid)

This is, “a crisp and true ginger with the addition of mimosa, rose and jasmine to enhance the vibrant complexity. The matching Ginger lotion is available at Retro LUSH (online).

($39.95 30 ml/$15.95 10 ml/$12.95 solid/$3.00 2 ml)

Ladyboy is unisex. “With notes of banana, seaweed, violet and oakmoss, it‟s not your average perfume.”

($39.95 30 ml/$15.95 10 ml/$12.95 solid/$3.00 2 ml)

”Love opens with a bright green apple note and develops into a spicy fragrance with cinnamon and cassia to remind you of the exhilaration of romance.”

($49.95 30 ml/$19.95 10 ml/$12.95 solid/$3.00 2ml)

The description for this fragrance is: “If you’re feeling down and lost, follow Swedish/Norwegian singer Karin Park’s advice and enter the SuperWorldUnknown. Karin’s title song was written for someone who had lost a loved one to make them see the world as a wonderful place again. Fittingly, the combination of citrus notes and chocolate in SuperWorldUnknown is like a surrealist dream of running away to the circus and escaping ties.”

The Smell of Weather Turning
($49.95 30 ml/$19.95 10 ml/$14.95 solid/ $3.00 ml)

”A countryside thunderstorm in a bottle, it opens in reverse. Starting with the fresh smell of rain on greenery after the clouds have passed, it develops a darker, smokier character as it warms on your skin. In the final stages, the smell of sweet hay and woods comes through. Contains notes of oakwood, hay, beeswax, nettle, English peppermint, mint and Roman chamomile.”

Has anyone purchased any of these new fragrances? Will you please leave a comment if you have. Thank you!

  1. The descriptions sound nice, but I think they would sell better in the store. Most people like to smell scents first. I do think the solid fragrances look cool, especially the Ginger. Love the smell of fresh ginger. I’d probably just apply ginger juice from my kitchen, though. I do the same thing with vanilla, etc.

    • You’re right. I’m wondering why the decision was made to be online only. If I was in your kitchen, I’d be eating cupcakes–never mind just applying ginger and vanilla! LOL! xx

  2. You could always do both 🙂

  3. I didn’t even know they had frangrances! Guess I need to look more around in the store during my next trip!.

  4. Do they send scent samples upon request? I can’t imagine buying a perfume without being able to smell it first.

  5. Oh that’s annoying not being available in-store. I think I would really like Ginger and The Smell of Weather Turning, but would like to test first. I’ve smelt Dear John in store as a rep happened to have his own spray bottle which he was nice enough to let me try.
