Have you read my previous post about the cruelty free cosmetics company, Eye of Horus? That review has all of the products currently available in the Australian based line.
Eye of Horus aims to “deliver cosmetic products that are affordable, non-irritating and effective.”
**Added note** Amy, the Co-Owner of Eye of Horus would like me to note “We have had a few comments from customers pronouncing our name incorrectly. It is actually pronounced Eye of Hor-rus not Whore-rus.”
Today’s review is on the two, newly released colours of the Smokey Eye Liner Pencils, that were sent for review.
Only plant based ingredients and waxes are used, including the following: carnauba wax, beeswax, rice bran wax, and candelilla wax.
Smokey Eye Liner Pencil ingredients: Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Silica, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax
The pencil sharpener does have to be purchased separately. This special sharpener is due to the soft waxes and oils contained in the Pencil. This is mine from the previous review:
One end of the Pencil has a smudger.
Swatches for the two new pencils:
Both have a very creamy, metallic look, that’s easy to apply–glides on with no need to tug on my eyes! Resists perspiration with no fading–YES! See my previous post with a photo of my perspiration!
Obsidian Black is just as advertised: “elusively defines and expands the look of your eyes without stark or heavy definition” It is also excellent for very fair, and mature eyes.
Bronze Amulet is a gorgeous copper/bronze and the name was chose as such because it is “prized as a precious Amulet,” to accentuate eyes like a sun goddess!
To test out a different way (from my previous review) that the Eye Liner Pencils are waterproof, smudge-proof and long-lasting, here are some photos:
Eye of Horus guarantees…”unsurpassed quality and integrity in our products. We offer a 100% money back guarantee of complete customer satisfaction.”
I continue to love, and highly recommend, Eye of Horus products!

Oh my gosh the staying power of these seems amazing, they really did not budge! The bronze is just gorgeous – bronze is one of my favorite colors anyway, but this shade is particularly lovely. Thanks for showing these Moxie!

I’ve never tried Eye of Horus makeup, I’ve actually never heard of them until now. But I love how the eyeliner looks the same after being in running water, I must get this! Great review and pictures.

They’re a new company–launched in August 2011. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment–and a very kind one at that!! xo
Does this last on the waterline?
I never put eyeliners on the waterline, since they seem to make my eyes water all day. You can always tweet to Eye of Horus (in the post) and ask that question. I’m sure someone has done a review and would be able to answer that question. Sorry!!
