NARS Nail Polish!
NARS Nail Polish in the color Purple Rain, ($18.00), is one of my favorite purple nail polishes. First arriving in the spring of 2010, NARS Cosmetics has re-released it and advertises it as as having a “new, long-wearing formula that provides a tough, chip-resistant finish with UV protection to prevent polish discoloration.” I completely agree, and am so glad that I purchased it again.
Check out the absolutely gorgeous NARS nail polish color! You can really see the shimmer.
The NARS nail polish formula is great, and I would definitely recommend the Purple Rain shade. The nail polish is easy to apply, and it’s a nice rich formula. I applied two coats of this shimmer polish (and no top coat) on my nails in the photos below. I changed my polish after 5 days, and my nails still looked super! Very shiny and amazingly, chip free!

NARS Cosmetics is cruelty free, and NARS nail polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde and DBP.
Described by NARS as being a “gothic purple,” I have hopefully captured the really beautiful deep purple color with red and dark violet-blue shimmer.
Fake plant alert!
Checking out various purples…the magenta petal has a gothic purple on the edges.

This is one of those nail polishes that I wish I could purchase but could not justify the price tag.

Well…it’s the most I have ever spent on a nail polish. Maybe they’ll be a good Black Friday deal and you won’t have to pay full price.
YEA, you made me go search and find this in my stash. I’m so happy that they rereleased this. Your pictures are beautiful.
I’m so glad. Shake it up and put it on your gorgeous long nails!! x
Your nails are impressive, Moxie – you should really do a nail care and tips post sometime! And I agree with everyone, it’s a stunning color and perfect for the season. <3

I have to try NARS pretty soon
Let me know if you do…you can wait for the sales coming soon! x
I’m really surprised that you’re featuring (or even using) NARS brand. NARS is owned by Shiseido, which is well known to use animal testing. (They also own Bare Escentials) While NARS may be against animal testing, you’re still funding the parent company.
Thank you, I really appreciate that you commented. I do, however, disagree. I don’t believe I’m funding the parent company at all. I want to support a company like NARS, which is cruelty free and does NOT sell their products in China. If a parent company sees that customers are buying from their brands that DO NOT test, it is a #WIN for the cruelty free company to get larger distribution in mass channels by being involved with huge companies.
I make sure that there is no testing on animals at any point during the production of the products. This includes by the company itself or third parties that may provide ingredients. NARS doesn’t, and is therefore cruelty free. However, you need to do what you believe is right for you.
Respectfully, Moxie
