I purchased two of the available 14 different shades of Buxom’s Stay-There Eye Shadow that are an exclusive to Sephora. These are cream shadows that dry to a powder and come in a 0.12 oz jar with a screw on cap for $17. All of the shades are named after dog breeds. The company states that they are making a charitable contribution to Canine Companions for Independence, a non profit organization that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities. The shadows are made without parabens, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, phthalates, genetically-modified organisms or triclosan.
The texture or consistency, of the shadows is one that felt spongy, and also kind of mousse-like. The shadow may be applied with a brush, or gently applied with your finger. Personally, I’m not a fan of sticking my finger in a jar, but for the sake of the review, I did so. I prefer to apply cream shadows with a brush especially designed for that purpose. While there is a Buxom Stay There Eye Shadow Brush that must be purchased separately from the shadow, it’s an additional $17. I have not tried that specific brush, so I can’t comment on how well it performs; I used my previously purchased Bobbi Brown cream shadow brush.
The two colors that I bought were Mutt, a shimmery bronzed taupe, and Schnauzer, a beautiful violet plum color. I did use a eye shadow base and then applied the eye shadows. They were vivid and shimmery. I was able to achieve a sheer wash of color or really build it up (not much product is needed for that).
There are many things to like about this product, and I love the two colors that I purchased.
Available exclusively at Sephora for $17.00
