Gia, of Gia Skincare, very kindly sent G’s Favorite #9, a moisturizing treatment.
I asked Gia how she came to name the moisturizer, #9?
“The #9 is actually my birthday as well as my Lucky Number! When I was creating the products, G’s Favorite #9 became the 9th product, I didn’t plan it that way, it just stuck. I have always been inspired by Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel’s favorite # is 5. My Favorite Fragrance by her was #19.
Gia has been a Skincare Expert, Make-up Artist and Hairstylist for over 25 years! As an Aesthetician (a Licensed Skin Specialist), Gia would make products that she would first test many times on herself, and, if she gave it her “G stamp of approval,” she would then use them on her clients.
Gia wanted to create her own professional skincare line with products that would make people using them feel that they were in a spa.
Gia’s goals remain the same today: to have skincare products that are created ethically, eco-friendly, and that “actually work.”
Purchase: Gia’s products are available in salons and spas in the US, and on her Website.

Gia’s Favorite #9 Ingredients:
Purified Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Squalane, Cyclomethicone, Hyaluronic Acid, Sorbitan Laurate, Lauroyl Proline, Butylene Glycol, Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Polysorbate 60, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
I asked Gia about the ingredients in her products. Her response:
“If I could bottle recipes that I’ve made I would, but the fact of the matter is you can’t without it going bad. I actually thought of freezing my skincare so I wouldn’t have to have any preservatives in it, but that’s not very practical or cost efficient. I don’t get caught up in the words ” Natural ” or ” Organic ” because, in one word, it’s called Marketing!”
I love G’s Favorite #9. It is, of course, cruelty free, very moisturizing, and has a lightly scented fragrance. Gia enlightened me that the pleasant fresh scent is the raw ingredient, Ouinoa Seed Extract.
With variable weather changes on the East Coast over the last two weeks, I’ve been able to test the moisturizer in warm (80 degrees) and humid weather, to cooler (about 50 degrees), and dryer conditions. Gia’s Favorite #9 never made my face look, or feel oily. Additionally, in the cooler weather, my skin felt soft and stayed moisturized.
Gia writes that she is, “proud to offer you the Gia Skincare line of quality products.” She should be! She has gone from dreaming about a skincare line when she was a little girl putting on her mother’s lotions and creams to “realizing her calling” and now having Gia Skincare!
