Hurraw! Balm: Cruelty Free and Vegan

Hurraw! Balm: Cruelty Free and Vegan

Hurraw! Balm is a product that I have read is great, but haven’t yet tried. I’m guessing that I will love it because it’s certified cruelty free, vegan, and is chocolate flavored! Yes, Hurraw! Balm has many flavors of lip balm, and one of them happens to be chocolate. Like me, those who work at Hurraw! Balm love a dark, raw chocolate treat. While it’s not meant to be eaten, of course, it is so safe, you can lick your lips and not have to think about any chemicals that you might be ingesting.

Hurraw! Balm

Hurraw! Balm has a very clear label so you know exactly what you’re purchasing with your hard earned money. Here’s an example from the Balm in chocolate.

Hurraw! Balm

The ingredients in Hurraw! Balm are all plant based. It’s certified vegan, and cruelty free, and everyone reading this blog should recognize the Leaping Bunny logo on the label. It’s always inportant to check a company’s stance, but I appreciate that Harraw! Balm puts this important statement in writing, “…does not purchase ingredients from any company that at any point of their growing, handling, or production cycle involves animal testing. Each supplier and every purchase order is confirmed cruelty-free before it is added to our supply chain.

Hurraw! Balm ingredients are cosmetic and food-grade ingredients. Safety testing takes place on Human-animal panels via independent labs. All of the ingredients are guaranteed to be GMO free by the growers and distributors. As if that’s not enough Hurraw! Balm is Gluten Free, Soy Free, and Shea Free.

This is why you won’t worry about licking your lips after you apply Hurraw! Balm: it’s non toxic. There is no petroleum, parabens, synthetic preservatives, or artifical colors.

Hurraw! Balm

All of the ingredients are listed. All of the flavors in the Balm are from 100% natural sources, manufactured in the USA and are USDA food grade. Most are from pure essential oils. If you purchase Chocolate, Rootbeer, Chai Spice, Green Tea, or Black Cherry, they are made for Hurraw! Balm from 100% natural, organically derived flavor compounds through steam-distillation and various processes of extraction.

Just in case you’re going to ask, there is absolutely no alcohol in any Balm, or in any of the ingredients!

Here’s where you can find Hurraw! Balm, or purchase it online where you can check out the variety, and the prices–all priced under $5.00.

What I love about the Pixi Beauty Balm:

Pixi Beauty Balms are nice chubby Balm in stick form, allowing one to quickly get a beautiful swatch of color on your lips.

The Balm is very soft, and extremely hydrating. I love that this minty-flavor Balm leaves a nice stain of color, even after the gloss sheen has faded. It’s interesting that each of the colors will give your lips your own “unique” shade of pink! After the balm wears off, lips are left tinted with a color and intensity that depends on the pH level of your lips! I love the packaging with the sharper built right in! It’s a simple twist-up that does not require you to sharpen it.

The Tinted Brilliance Balm comes in a variety of colors in addition to Baby Bare;  the other colors, which you should definitely check out, are: Magnific Mauve, Craving Coral, Pretty Pink, Radiant Rose, Rosy Red, and Bitten Berry.

jane iredale Lip Drink SPF 15 Lip Balm Review

jane iredale- The Skin Care Makeup

I have a terrific product that I will review: the jane iredale product, the Lip Drink. Jane Iredale founded Iredale Mineral Cosmetics in 1994, and her goal has been to “make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin. Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that a woman can be her best in the shortest amount of time.”

jane iredale products are certified cruelty free by PETA!  PETA

This jane iredale product is SPF 15 from the lip balm’s active ingredient, zinc oxide. It is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, and when used regularly it can aid in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin. The Lip Drink provides Medium Protection from UVB/UVA rays.

Jane Iredale lip drink

I like that the lip balm tube is designed to appeal to both women and men. It’s not  just women that have to worry about skin cancer; men are equally at risk, of course! The lip balm is advertised as being colorless, which is true, but I do get a white tint on my lips.

This is practical for all seasons. Your lips can get scorched from the winter winds and the sun’s rays in the summer.

The Lip Drink bears the Recommended by Label:

Another great aspect is that the Lip Drink has no petroleum-derived products. Jane Iredale reports that it is Vegan and Gluten Free. The smell and flavor is from lemon and carrot oils.

See the open jar symbol? That’s the EU (European Union) requirement that all boxes and labels contain that symbol with the number of months you can expect to use the product at its “optimal performance.”   So the period the consumer has on the Lip Drink is 12 months.

Yu-Be: skin care, lip care and moisturizing socks

I received three Yu-Be products, Moisturizing Skin Cream, Lip Therapy, and Moisturizing Socks. Yu-Be is a Japanese company, and just to note, before accepting the products, Yu-Be responded to all my email questions to verify that they were still cruelty free.

The three products:

Yu-Be is also available at Sephora and Sephora.com and The DermStore.com

Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Moisturizing Socks

Do you have dry, cracked heels or elbows? I highly recommend this product!

One pair per box in one size.

The socks are made with a bacteria-absorbing material that is also hypoallergenic. The socks can be reused, simply hand wash and hang up to dry.

Here’s how I used them for the “Yu-Be Nighttime Moisturizing Treatment.”

After washing and drying my heels, I applied Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream, and then covered them with the Socks.

The next morning my heels were as smooth as can be! No more dry, cracked heels! Two great products (the Moisturizing Skin Cream is reviewed below).

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream 1.25oz (33g) tube

In case you’re not sure, Yu-Be is pronounced, “YOO-BEE.” The ingredients are based on the original 50 year old formula that was invented by the Japanese pharmacist, Yoshikiyo Nowatari. It is the #1 selling medicated, vitamin-enriched cream in Japan.

This is a Glycerin-based cream that is enriched with Vitamin E and Vitamin B2. The skin cream contains no artificial colors, fragrances or petrolatum.

Ingredients:

Glycerin, Water, Isopropyl Myristate, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Camphor, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Hydrogenated coco-glycerides, Stearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, EDTA, Methylparaben, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Sodium Hyaluronate.

While the label states that it can be used “anywhere on the body – even the face and lips,” I only tested it on my hands, legs, elbows and heels.

This is the cream that I put on my heels, and then used the moisturizing socks (reviewed above).

The company notes that the cream does not have SPF, therefore, it does not provide any sun protection.

Yu-Be is a true multi-tasker. Here are some of the ways Yu-Be has suggested you may use it:

*to smooth rough, dry patches on hands, elbows, knees, and feet.

*to soften and reduce tough calluses, including hard, cracked heels

*to help heal and prevent split cuticles

*to replenish lost moisture from water damage or frequent hand washing

*to help heal and minimize scarring from burns

*to protect and moisturize skin exposed to cold, wind, and water.

*to protect against diaper rash and frost bite

The only objection that some may have is that there is a camphor scent. On the plus side to camphor: it is very effective at soothing skin irritations!

Yu-Be Lip Therapy

This is an all natural lip balm and contains no artificial flavors or colors.

Ingredients:

Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Cera alba (Beeswax), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Camphor, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Eupatorium Rebaudianum Bertoni (Stevia) Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary Leaf Extract).

The lip balm is excellent for moisturizing, healing and soothing dry chapped lips.

Please note that this product does not have SPF, therefore, it does not provide any sun protection.

It really worked wonderfully, and the only objection I had is that since it is camphor enriched (which helps to soothe irritations), some may not like the scent–but it does go away.
