SquareHue Nail Polish Subscription: Review and Photos

SquareHue: Simple and Fabulous.

That is how SquareHue has described themselves as, and after trying their first monthly nail polish subscription, I completely agree. Here’s how this monthly subscription works. You sign up with a credit card for a monthly SquareHue Membership that is $21, and includes shipping to a US address. I emailed SquareHue and they let me know that they do not currently ship to anywhere outside the continental US,  because nail polish has to ship ground. Sorry to those readers who won’t be able to take advantage of this monthly service—hopefully, something will be worked out in the near future!

Purchase a subscription

Each month subscribers receive three preselected full size, .50 oz. bottles. Kind of silly I have to write this, but given that I have read about a nail polish subscription service that “rents” bottles…I will write to assure you that these are new nail polish bottles, and you don’t return them to be passed on to someone else. Use as little or as much nail polish as you want; they’re yours, for keeps!

Description of SquareHue Nail Polish:

The .50 oz bottles are square, and they are a 3-Free Brand. SquareHue does not contain  DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde. There is also no Camphor in the nail polish. It is cruelty free, and made in the USA.

Why you would want a SquareHue subscription:

I’ve “said” it before, and I’ll repeat it here, I am very, very unfashionable. SquareHue writes that they will keep you “fashionably up to date” with the each monthly shipment. Yes, everyone receives the same three colors, but they are chosen to serve a variety of needs: day, evening, casual, or fancy! Subscribers are assured of a “no-hassle commitment.” You may cancel at any time; another option is being able to pause your account if for whatever reason, you want to skip a shipment.

Nicely packaged so everything arrived safely:

The brush is on the small size, which I found to be very comfortable and super easy to control.

SquareHue Nail Polish

I’m not a nail blogger, but I had no problems with the nail polish. The formula is incredibly smooth and dries relatively quickly. I certainly could have done my manicure in one coat and had very lovely coverage, but I used two coats, and it was perfect! The color on my nails looks like the color in the bottle. There was no streaking with the SquareHue polish!

As I had to change my polish after a day to get everything swatched so you would read this in a timely manner, I can only give you a report on how well the polish fared after 24 hours. As silly as that may seem, I’ve had some polishes that chipped after a day, and they were not “cheapies.” Each of the three polish colors had no chips after 24 hours.

All nails have a top coat on them.

SquareHue Holly Berry

This is a red, jewel toned shimmer color.

Gorgeous shimmery champagne golden color.

The following photos were all taken outside at different times of the day; beautiful purple shimmer!

Final Thoughts on SquareHue:

There are many monthly subscription boxes that sometimes include a nail polish, but this is rather unique in that there is no skincare, no beauty samples–only nail polish! The response to the SquareHue subscription has been so great, that a second shipment of January’s box (called the Artic Collection) had to be added!

As there is the option to skip, or cancel completely, I would highly recommend you sign up for a monthly subscription. I love that SquareHue is committed to giving back. A portion of the monthly subscription price is donated to a cause. The current focus is on human trafficking.

SquareHue has very kindly given me a promotional code for my readers. This promo code will expire Monday, December 24, and it is case case sensitive: DECBLOGGER07. If you lock in at the introductory price of $14.99 now, you are guaranteed to stay at that price point for as long as you are subscribed to SquareHue!

Disclosure: I was provided with the polishes. All links are for your convenience only. The promotional code is for you, my very kind readers, and I do not benefit from you using it!
