Benecos Nail Polish in Wild Orchid and Grenade

Benecos Nail Polish

Benecos Nail Polish is free of: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor, Phthalates, and Colophony. Benecos is 100% vegan, cruelty free, and gluten free! The name Benecos stands for good cosmetics (Latin: bene means good). It was founded in Germany in 2008, and their goal was to make high quality, natural cosmetics available to all. Benecos didn’t want affordable prices and high quality, natural cosmetics to be a contradiction!

Benecos: “Hip, Trendy and Affordable!” Certified natural cosmetics. Benecos can be purchased at this link

Benecos

I have two nail polish colors to share with you: Wild Orchid and Grenade. (If you’d like to see a previous post of another Benecos color, I was able to sample, Deep Plum, in the True Beauty Box.)

Benecos

Wild Orchid:

This is a beautiful medium berry color. I applied a base coat, then applied two coats of Wild Orchid on my nails for an opaque look. This Benecos nail polish is easy to apply and you’ll get a fantastic, shiny color, even without a top coat. Yes, I did apply a top coat on my nails for the photo, but it is absolutely not necessary to achieve the shine. If, however, you want your nail polish to last longer, you should apply a top coat. I had to change my polish after two days, but notably, I had no chips at all in that time.

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isopropyl Grain Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, May Contain: Silica, Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Pigment Red 57, Red 220 , Pigment Black 7, Barium Sulphates, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Tartrazine

* indicates Certified Organic Ingredients
** for natural essential oils

It’s a beautiful color, no matter what light. I wanted to make sure to have the color accurate, however. You can see in the photo below that it is not a red color.

Grenade:

I applied a base coat and then added Grenade on top of it. This creamy red color is beautiful, and I probably could have gotten away with one coat of polish. For the photo though, I put on two coats, and then a top coat. A top coat is not necessary for it to be shiny, but will make your polish last longer. I kept this polish on for 4 days before I changed it, and I didn’t have even the slightest chip!

Each Benecos polish is $11.99 for 9 ml, and the formula, the colors I’ve tested, and the ease of use, make it a high quality nail polish. Nothing negative to write at all.

Thank you for the ALOHA Package!

A huge Mahalo to Kathryn from the blog theFABZILLA for the ALOHA Package. I received the package (from her home state of Hawaii) when Kathryn tallied all names that visited her blog and left comments from 401st post to her 500th one, and she used random.org to pick…me!

Included are handmade lotions and soaps from Hawaii, a Hawaiian surfboard nail file, and caramacs (Macadamian chocolate with caramel). They were apparently yummy; I was nice and let my children have those!

I really appreciate the kindness and generosity of this gift. It certainly was not necessary since I visit the blog because Kathryn’s blog is great, not with any expectation of winning something.  This package was particularly appreciated as I am dealing with getting my car appraised by the insurance company. I had damage after being rear-ended by a hit and run driver!  Feeling very annoyed with the world, but I know there are nice people out there. Kathryn, you’re one of the good ones!

The Too Faced lashGASM:

0.4 Fl. Oz. (12 mL) This is a full size mascara!

Color: Black

This is advertised as being a “defining and volumizing mascara…to create dramatically long lashes with intense color.

Totally agree!! The brush on the mascara “flexi-firm”, enabled me to get each individual lash coated with mascara without clumping.

There are illustrations of three possible looks to create with each row in the Shadow Bon Bons. I have based mine off of one called, “Toasty Caramel” (using row 3 colors), and also included two shadows from row 2 that I blended: Lovey Dovey and Hot Cocoa.

Thoughts About the Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons:

If you’re looking for an organic product, this is not for you. However, of course, Too Faced is cruelty free—it has been since the company began fourteen years ago! I agree with Too Faced that Shadow Bon Bons does, “make it easy to create bountiful looks. Go from sweet and sassy to subtle to dramatic with this one versatile set.” Make sure to use a primer, and you’ll find all the shadows are pigmented. The only shadow that I had a bit of fallout from was Peach Fuzz.

I like that there are three illustrated looks that you can create. I used it as a basis for the above photo. Shadow Bon Bons is a great value in that you’re not only getting twelve eye shadows, but you’re also able to sample the Shadow Insurance in Candlelight, and you receive a great, full size mascara!

Disclosure: I have nothing to disclose. I purchased Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons.
