We all have issues that we hold important to us, and want others to join in our crusade for or against. Making sure I buy only cruelty free products is important to me, and I want to help educate others to do the same.
I hold this belief: there is no reason that unwilling subjects, in this case animals, should be forced to participate in the testing of any materials to deem them “safe to use” on others. Period. Where are the ethics, people? There is no question that by testing on animals they are indeed suffering, and for the sole purpose of determining what is a toxic level that will cause them to die prematurely.
Why use animals to test beauty products? What’s the difference between animal testing and human testing? Humans participate in such testing of their own free will, and with signed consent forms. The animals do not have a choice. They are not “willing participants.”
The FDA does not require animal testing for cosmetics. Please read this on the FDA website: “FDA supports the development and use of alternatives to whole-animal testing as well as adherence to the most humane methods available within the limits of scientific capability when animals are used for testing the safety of cosmetic products.”
Animal protection groups banded together to form the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). This Coalition is known by it’s Leaping Bunny Logo. 
This logo makes it easy for consumers to find animal-friendly products. The Leaping Bunny Program makes it very easy for you to be assured that no animal testing is used “in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.”
Readers, do not believe companies that claim that they are not on the Leaping Bunny list due to costs. Not True!!! Direct quote “There are no costs associated with applying or becoming certified by the Leaping Bunny Program, which includes being listed in our online and printed shopping guides.”
You can make a difference! Companies listen when customers stop buying their products! Please, purchase only cruelty free products.
