I used the eye of horus Nubian Brown Goddess Pencil

Sheba Mystical Goddess Eyeshadow Palette

I used a primer, and the eyeshadows lasted a full day! These are Italian baked and can be used wet or dry. They are very pigmented and being able to use the colors wet or dry allows you to create so many looks. Love that these colours can be used to illuminate, contour and highlight.

The Palette has a mirror, brushes, and a magnetic closure–so it really shuts!  It’s great that when you run out of the eyeshadow colors there are more magnets that hold the refills into place. Simply take one out and place a new one in the Sheba Mystical Goddess Eyeshadow case. That makes it so easy!

There is currently free shipping for those who live in Australia, so make sure to take advantage of that amazing offer if you can!!

Pixi Beauty: Pretty Eye Perfection

Today I have a review of the Limited Edition Pixi Beauty Palette: Pretty Eye Perfection. This cruelty free Palette contains twelve eye shades.

Pixi Beauty claims: These universally flattering, easy to wear, silky & blendable hues will transform your lids into radiant perfection.

Pixi Beauty Website and Twitter

Mica provides dense natural pigment

Pretty Eye Perfection comes in a simple, but very attractive, cardboard package. That’s in line with Pixi’s philosophy to use minimum packaging that can be recycled so waste is minimized.

Here is the Pixi Beauty Pretty Eye Perfection Palette: Pixi Beauty

After lifting off the lid, there is a plastic cover to protect the eye shadows.

I have numbered the eye shadows, as Pixi does not have any names for the colors.

Pixi Beauty

These first four shadows blew my mind in terms of color intensity and softness. SO amazingly pigmented and really soft.

#1 is a dark forest green with some gold shimmer

#2 is a deep aubergine with some red shimmer

#3 is a blue with gold shimmer

#4 is a copper gold shimmer

#5 is a  vanilla shimmer

#6 is a taupe brown shimmer

#7 is a bright lilac with shimmer

#8 is a matte in a chocolate brown color

#9 is a metallic bronze

#10 is a pink shimmer

#11 is a lilac with gold shimmer

#12 is a pink shimmer

The last section I swatched a second time, since I had a hard time seeing a difference between the colors #10 and #12. To my eye, they look very similar, even in the pan. Here are new swatches of the colors #9-12, taken with a flash.

Pixi Beauty

The pans are small (5.52g/0.192oz)

My thoughts of the Pixi Beauty Pretty Eye Perfection Palette:

All of the colors were incredibly pigmented and they were very soft when applying to my eyes! With the exception of the colors #10 and #12, which in my palette, were so similar, I love that there  there were, as advertised, a variety of colors for “Luminous Lids,” and that they were also silky and blendable. Although the size of the shadow pans are small, I think it’s still a great little Palette. At the time of this post, this limited edition Palette is available at the Pixi Beauty Website. You may find it at your local Target store, but unlikely as it is a limited edition.

You can check out the first product I reviewed from Pixi Beauty: their gorgeous Evening Emerald Nail Polish at FutureDerm.

Too Faced Cosmetics

The Too Faced lashGASM:

0.4 Fl. Oz. (12 mL) This is a full size mascara!

This is advertised as being a “defining and volumizing mascara…to create dramatically long lashes with intense color.

Totally agree!! The brush on the mascara “flexi-firm”, enabled me to get each individual lash coated with mascara without clumping.

There are illustrations of three possible looks to create with each row in the Shadow Bon Bons. I have based mine off of one called, “Toasty Caramel” (using row 3 colors), and also included two shadows from row 2 that I blended: Lovey Dovey and Hot Cocoa.

Moxie Reviews Too Faced Cosmetics

Thoughts About the Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons:

If you’re looking for an organic product, this is not for you. However, of course, Too Faced is cruelty free—it has been since the company began fourteen years ago! I agree with Too Faced that Shadow Bon Bons does, “make it easy to create bountiful looks. Go from sweet and sassy to subtle to dramatic with this one versatile set.” Make sure to use a primer, and you’ll find all the shadows are pigmented. The only shadow that I had a bit of fallout from was Peach Fuzz.

I like that there are three illustrated looks that you can create. I used it as a basis for the above photo. Shadow Bon Bons is a great value in that you’re not only getting twelve eye shadows, but you’re also able to sample the Shadow Insurance in Candlelight, and you receive a great, full size mascara!

Disclosure: I have nothing to disclose. I purchased Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons.

Too Faced Cosmetics: Matte Eye Shadow Collection

The Palette for today’s review, the Matte Eye Shadow Collection, is not only cruelty free, but also Vegan-friendly: there are no animal bi-products.

Too Faced Cosmetics does not test on animals.

“No way, Too Faced loves animals! Our products are totally cruelty-free.”
Also, Too Faced does not sell their products in China, which by law, requires animal testing.

I’m not sure what is more amazing. The fact that the Founders of Too Faced,  and Jeremy Johnson, started their company only 14 years ago and are now a global company; or, that despite unlike other companies that no longer have cruelty free status, Too Faced has stayed true to their vision and remained cruelty free! Thank you, Too Faced, for caring about your customers, and the welfare of animals!

Co-Founders of Too Faced Cosmetics:
Jerrod is the Creative Director, and Jeremy takes care of Sales and Operations (CEO). The goal is to “offer foolproof makeup that allows real women to become as gorgeous as they dared to dream.”

Facebook  Twitter

The Matte Eye Shadow Collection was first available exclusively at Sephora in the Fall of 2011. Now you can find this, and other Too Faced  “Glamorous Goodies all over the world.”

Too Faced Cosmetics believes that “the modern way to wear matte is to keep it soft, sexy and sophisticated.”

Some specifics:

The three large eye shadows are each 0.07 ounces.

The six small eye shadows are each 0.03 ounces.

(Metric: three large eye shadows are each 2 g ; six small eye shadows are each 0.9 g).

Price: $36 ($75 value)

Opening and closing the Palette is easy with a magnetic closure:

(A little piece of maroon-colored fabric is used to pull open the magnetic closure on the Palette). Click to enlarge.

There are three cards with directions for creating different looks with the shadows: Day, Classic and Fashion

Tufted Suede: caramel

Chinchilla: warm brown

Coffee Bean: the way I like my coffee- (dark, no cream, thanks!)

Velveteen Bunny : vanilla

Pebbles: stone grey

London Fog: navy

Fresh Linen: light pink

Vintage Violet: violet (gorgeous! and a very different violet from any of the eye shadows that I currently own). Not quite sure how to describe the violet color! This is my favorite color!!

Midnight: soft black

Swatches Courtesy of Too Faced Cosmetics:

My photos, swatched with Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer:

Taken inside, during the evening:

Ingredients:

Tufted Suede, Chinchilla, Coffee Bean, Velveteen Bunny, Pebbles, Fresh Linen, Midnight: Talc, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methicone. May Contain/Peut Contenir/(+/-): Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Ultramarines (CI 77007).

London Fog: Talc, Boron Nitride, Zinc Stearate, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Polyethylene, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Ultramarines (CI 77007).

Vintage Violet: Talc, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methicone, Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Ultramarines (CI 77007).

I followed the instruction card to create a Fashion Eye:

Lots to love about the Matte Eye Shadow Collection.  It has both cool and warm tones. The shadows applied very easily, and were blendable. There was no fall out from the shadows; they didn’t crease, nor did they fade at the end of the day. *Note, I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer. There are instructions (How-to Cards) in both English, and on the opposite side, French. Vegan-friendly!

Any cons?  The only thing that I could think of is that you might not want an all matte palette. However, my opinion is that, while it’s great to have a variety of textures in a palette, it’s also convenient to have all matte in one place. I’m glad that I purchased the Matte Eye Shadow Collection, and I would highly recommend it!

This is the second palette that I have received to review from NVEY ECO. Click for link to past review

This is #9 Hidden Pearl Mystique, a 5 Colour Collection: (click on the photos to enlarge)

Hidden Light       Precious Pearl          Lemoncello            Mystique          Moss

I wasn’t sure that the photo above showed the true colour (as they would spell it in Australia) of Precious Pearl, so I have taken the photo below, to try to capture that. I used that, (and Hidden Light), wet, and this photo reflects that.

Hidden Light       Precious Pearl          Lemoncello               Mystique                     Moss

Description of each:

Hidden Light: white shimmer

Precious Pearl: cream matte

Lemoncello: golden yellow shimmer

Mystique: neutral taupe shimmer

Moss: olive/golden green shimmer

NVEY ECO swatches:

I used all of the colors in the palette to create this look. I used an eye shadow primer, which I really recommend you use with these shadows.

NVEY ECO Eye Shadows include chamomile and jojoba, and also have antioxidants that are used to create a smooth, soft formula. NVEY ECO writes that this is “excellent for dry and sensitive skin.”

Ingredients: Zea Mays Starch (corn starch), Zinc Stearate (plant derived), Ethyl Macadamiate (macadamia-based), Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba seed oil), Stearic Acid (plant derived), Lauroyl Lysine (plant derived), Benzyl Alcohol (natural preservative), Salicylic Acid (natural preservative), Sorbic Acid (natural preservative), Tocopherol (vitamin e), Ascorbyl Palmitate (vitamin c), Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot seed oil), Chamomilla Recutita (matricaria flower oil), Glycerin (vegetable derived). May Contain: Ci77019 (mica), Ci77491, Ci77492, Ci77499, Ci77007 (iron oxides), Ci77891 (titanium dioxide), Ci77947 (zinc oxide), Ci77742 (manganese violet).

Are the eye shadows pigmented? My experience with Hidden Light and Precious Pearl was that I needed to wet my makeup brush a lot before applying these two. I used Hidden Light as a highlighter shade under my brow bone and in the corner of my eyes. Precious Peal was used to blend out the colours as needed. However, the other eye shadows in #9 Hidden Pearl Mystique Palette, were just as NVEY ECO described, having a “depth of colour, ease of application and long wearing ability.”

Order online at the NVEY ECO site.
