Jessica Johnson Beauty: Classic Beauty

Jessica Johnson Beauty

I “met” Jessica of  Jessica Johnson Beauty via Twitter. I was very excited to read that her businesses in NYC and Maine can give you beautiful brows, and glowing skin.

Jessica Johonson Beauty has a mission to, “…Empower women with a simple, straight-forward approach to beauty that allows them to race out the door in five minutes looking polished and put together.”

Jessica Johnson gets her nspiration from the heyday of Hollywood glamour.  “The icons of that age had an easy, effortless beauty grounded in two essential elements: stunning eyebrows and a vibrant complexion. Simple. Graceful. Elegant. That’s always in style.”

In addition, Jessica has a product, that while I have not yet tried, I would like to write about. It is the Jessica Johnson Brow & Lash Conditioning Serum. As I do with all the products that I review, I make sure that it’s completely cruelty free. Being 100% cruelty free means that at no point in the making of the product is there animal testing. In addition, it is not sold in China, where testing is still required by law! So, to that end, Jessica double-checked with the manufacturer, and it is still cruelty free.

The Jessica Johnson Beauty Brow & Lash Conditioning Serum has been clinically tested to produce longer, stronger, thicker eyebrows and eyelashes in six weeks. The blend of active ingredients including SymPeptide (TM) Xlash, Black Sea Rod Oil and Hyaluronic Acid. The product is paraben free, perfume free. and opthamologist approved.

Jessica Johnson Beauty Jessica Johnson Beauty is located at The Yves Durif Salon at The Carlyle, and with Erno Laszlo Institute, both located in New York City. You can also make an appointment for Jessica at her business at 15 Middle Street, Suite B2, in Portland, Maine.

Eyebrow Shaping: Do It Yourself

Eyebrow Shaping

My brow philosophy is to keep it fairly natural.

Most people have a basic brow shape that fits their face shape and just needs to be perfected. For DIY at home, I would suggest combing the brows upward first and trimming them conservatively. I personally think the pencil trick is very dated, screws everyone up, and isn’t always the rule.

So, after trimming fill, in your brows with a pencil, until you feel you have the desired shape. Then tweeze the hairs under, and in the middle, and above. Better yet, see a pro, then you have something to go by.

You’ll noticed that it has an oval shaped tip.

It is easy to use. Simply apply light, soft strokes for lighter color hair (that would include blonde and silver); apply harder strokes for darker hair (medium brown to black).

The last step involves the other end of the Brow Power Pencil, which is a spooley brush.

Lightly brush your brows with the spooley brush, and you with have a very natural-looking brow.

IT Cosmetics reports that it is approved by the American Cancer Society chemists as safe for ultra-sensitive skin.

Also included in the box with the Eyebrow Pencil are detailed directions for use. Here is the illustration that accompanies the directions:

IT CosmeticsThoughts on the Brow Power:

While I haven’t tested it long enough to write if I noticed any hair growth on my brows, I absolutely agree that it is waterproof, sweatproof and does not smudge!  In my opinion, there are no cons. Recommend without hesitation!
