Christmas Nail Art Using Flourish From Inkk

Christmas Nail Art Using Flourish From Inkk

Today’s maniure is Christmas Nail Art using one of the many beautiful shades of polish from Inkk: Flourish. Flourish is a gorgeous jewel toned green that works anytime, obviously not just during the Holiday season! This shade is part of the Inkk Collection Muse, and they’re all inspired by the Great Masterworks of Art.  If you haven’t checked out all of my previous reviews of Inkk Lacquers, you may start with the most recent, a Burberry Inspired Nail Art post. I know that not everyone celebrates Christmas, so I’ll have a different theme next week. For now, I’m trying to work on perfecting my stamping with this Christmas Nail Art:

Inkk is vegan and cruelty free nail polish. The gorgeous bottles hold a very large amount of polish, 18ml. They are made in the USA, although the company is based in Canada. Hopefully, you’ve already purchased from Inkk, but if not, you should check out the website. You can make a custom nail lacquer ,and you can also purchase one, in addition to Flourish, from the House of Inkk Collection.

 Christmas Nail Art

I wanted to wear my Christmas Nail Art manicure for more than a few days, so in the photos I have used two coats of Flourish, and a top coat on all of my nails. However, I do want to mention that Inkk Nail Lacquers are very glossy prior to using a top coat.

Last week, I included a quote about using the best technique to make sure you have a beautiful looking manicure for more than just a day or two. After each layer, before you add a top coat, make sure that each and every layer is dry!

Do you have any questions about Inkk that I haven’t answered in any of my previous reviews? If so, you can either leave it after the post, or ask your questions directly to Inkk on Facebook or Twitter. Ashley Morgan is the Creator and President of Inkk.

Burberry Inspired Nail Art Using Inkk Nail Lacquers

Burberry Inspired Nail Art Using Inkk Nail Lacquers

Today’s Monday manicure is a Burberry Inspired Nail Art using Inkk Nail Lacquers. I like the Burberry print, but would never purchase from the company. They are not cruelty free as they sell their beauty products in China! In addition, they use real fur, etc.. Fortunately, you can do your own Burberry Inspired Nail Art using Inkk Nail Lacquers! Inkk is cruelty free, vegan, and five-free (of harmful chemicals). And, seriously, the Inkk Nail Lacquers are dirt cheap compared to anything that you might be (sadly) tempted to purchase from Burberry!

The gorgeous, large bottles hold 18ml of polish, and are made in the USA. Go to the Inkk website and you will see that you can make a custom nail lacquer. In addition, you can purchase one from the House of Inkk Collection. The two shades used in the Burberry Inspired Nail Art are Francesca, and another that I previously reviewed, Snow Shadow. Snow Shadow is from House of Inkk’s Winter Arctic Collection. The Winter Arctic Collection is limited edition, so it’s only available until December 16th, or until supplies last.

Burberry Inspired Nail Art

Please note that I only used a top coat on my one nail (ring finger) for the Burberry Inspired Nail Art. My other nails are without a top coat, and you can see just how glossy the Inkk Francesca is! No matter what the conditions, the polish is gorgeous and easy to apply.  Yes, I did apply a top coat after the photos, so I would have so many more days without having to touch up my nails!

Here’s some good advice to remember whether you’re doing the Burberry Inspired Nail Art, or simply applying Inkk Polish. It’s from Harper’s Bazaar, 2015: “The main culprit behind chips and peels,” according to manicurist Deborah Lippmann, “is rushed, heavy-handed application. You absolutely must let each layer—base coat, first polish application, second polish application and top coat—dry completely before doing the next,” she says. “The solvents in the polish need no less than two minutes to evaporate and if you actually watch the nail for that period,” explains Lippmann, “you’ll see it go from having a really wet look to a dried-down, glassy look that means the solvents are gone. When you paint on your next coat before the layer before is fully dry, you get peeling in sheets,” she says. Part two of the problem is too-thick application: “You want each layer to be very thin—it’s okay if the first coat is streaky, you’ll cover that the next time.”
So, I have to just add that my experience with Inkk Nail Lacquers is that the first coat is never streaky. Ever.

For the photo above, I wrapped my black scarf around my fingers, because with the temperature outside reading 22°F, I decided to take this inside and simulate real life conditions!
If you haven’t tried any of the Inkk Lacquers, now is the time! The Winter Arctic Collection is discounted, and is limited edition.

Canadian Flag Nail Art with Inkk Nail Lacquer

Canadian Flag Nail Art

I promise that my Canadian Flag Nail Art has nothing to do with the recent United States Presidential Election. In fact, the Canada Red shade was customized by Ashley Morgan, the Creator and President of Inkk, before the election.

Knowing that Inkk Nail Lacquers hail from Canada (alhough they are made in the United States), I thought it would be a nice tribute to the company to do Canadian Flag Nail Art. However, I wasn’t sure which red from Inkk would be best. Although you see a variety of shades of red when you to a search for Canadian Flag Nail Art, the Inkk Canada Red Nail Lacquer is the correct one.

So, what’s the magic behind Ashley creating the exact red shade for the Canadian flag? She matched the red from the actual Canadian flag by using the tools on the Inkk website! Ashley downloaded a picture of the flag, loaded it into the Create Lacquers area of yourinkk.com, and clicked the red color inside the flag. Then, she named the color and ordered it for me to try. Yes, it’s that easy for anyone wishing to create a custom color. Here’s a link to the post where I created my own Moxie shade!

I love the red shade, and knew that others would, too! Hence the Canadian Flag Nail Art post.

I was thinking of what I would wear if I were to take a trip to Canada.  It’s cold and snowing where I live (in Massachusetts). Therefore, pretty much what I’m wearing here, like nice warm, cozy sweaters, and mittens, I could just quickly pack in a suitcase, and head on over there.

No matter is you design your shade, or choose one from Inkk, it’s of course, the same quality; it’s easy to apply, and although you should wear a top coat for a lasting manicure, the Inkk shades are glossy without one.

The gorgeous 18ml bottles are 5-Free (of harmful chemicals), vegan, and cruelty free. I love that Inkk Nail Lacquers look as beautiful in the bottle, as on my nails! If you design a custom color, your package will be gold, just like the Inkk octopus tail on the bottle.  If you select one of the shades from the House of Inkk Collection the tail is silver, as is the package that it will arrive in.  canadian nail art

If you haven’t read any of my many past reviews, or purchased Inkk Nail Lacquer yet, you should know that Inkk is such an innovative nail polish brand. Inkk has cruelty free and vegan nail polishes that are five-free. Customers have the ability to make a custom nail lacquer, as the Canada Red for my Canadian flag nail art was, or to purchase one of the many that are on the website from the House of Inkk Collection. Many have specialized finishes, and be sure to order early, as there are also some limited edition collections!

Inkk Snow Shadow Review and Photos

Inkk Snow Shadow

Inkk Snow Shadow and Winter Charcoal are two of the five new nail polish shades I received from the House of Inkk’s new Winter Arctic Collection.  Ashley Morgan, the Creator and President of Inkk will have them available for purchase later this week.

inkk snow shadow

I asked Ashley a lot of questions about the Winter Arctic Collection because–in addition to the fact that I love it – I was really fascinated with her color choice, and the whole process. As a nail polish lover, I’m sure you’ll be interested in learning what Ashley said, and the photos she shared.

  1. How did you decide on which five shades to use for your Winter Arctic Collection?
  2. Will you be adding to the collection?

“I wanted to capture the feeling of winter, arctic and chill and steer away from traditional Holiday colors like red, green, orange.  I used Pinterest to find pictures that had this feel to it. I downloaded the pictures I liked the feel of and used the Inkk website, Create Tab, to pull colors from the pictures. This is the same way anyone can make custom colors. I wanted to have a variety of light/dark and choose colors that represent winter as well as wear well with other colors (for fashion).

Below are two examples of pictures inside Inkk website choosing the colors. You can see the grey, aqua, blues in each.

Inkk Nail Lacquers

And yes, I will probably add some warmer shades, think winter sunset, sunrise and northern lights.”

Inkk Snow Shadow

There are so many reasons that I love Inkk Nail Lacquers, and highly recommend it. First, you don’t have to worry about animal cruelty because they are a cruelty free nail polish brand. If you’re vegan, you’ll also be able to enjoy the polish, as there are no animal derived ingredients!  There is also the fact that they are five-free, which means that you’re not worrying about the chemicals Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor.

Finally, there is no excuse to use another polish that is not cruelty free and vegan, because the quality is superb. Sometimes people will get excited about the pretty packaging of a nail polish–regardless of either the quality of the product or the fact that the company is listed as one that tests on animals! With Inkk, you’ll have the highest quality product and a beautiful product, including the mailer and the box in which the polish is packaged.

Inkk Snow Shadow

I’ll do another post showing you more of Winter Charcoal, which is a dark grey shade. Inkk Snow Shadow is a light, pale grey shade. I labeled the photo below so you would see that both Inkk Snow Shadow and Winter Charcoal are easy to apply and needed only one to two coats for full  opaqueness. Ashley also sent an Inkk Matte Top Coat for me to play with, and I used that as well.

So you’ll get a better understanding of the variety of shades and looks you can achieve, I have labeled what I used.

Inkk Nail Lacquer Review and Photos

Inkk Nail Lacquer Review and Photos

Inkk Nail Lacquer is a new nail polish company from Montreal, Quebec. Their slogan is, “Every Color Tells a Story. Wear Yours.” I was fortunate enough to be able to customize my very own color, and name it. In addition, I was able to try some of the House of Inkk five-free, cruelty free and vegan nail lacquers that represents the brand.
Inkk Nail Lacquer

I’ve taken lots of photographs; and no matter what the lighting, my custom Inkk Nail Lacquer is just beautiful! I have named it Moxie, of course.

Inkk Nail Lacquer
Ashley Morgan is the Creator and President of Inkk. With her previous business experience, she put her creativity and tech skills to work to start Inkk in 2013. There are numerous assets that I believe sets Inkk apart from nail polish brands.

Inkk Nail Lacquer was very easy to work with (and I’m not a nail blogger, just a future paying customer that needs a nail polish that won’t start chipping while I’m going about my day). That includes doing activities with not only my family, but with my dogs and doing my job. There is no special lighting, and no extra effort on my part to make the Inkk Nail Lacquer Moxie look as beautiful in the bottle as on my nails!

All of the photographs of my nails show me wearing only one coat of Inkk Nail Lacquer Moxie, and without a top coat!

Inkk Nail Lacquer

Just take a minute to check out the beauty of the design. You can probably already guess that the name Inkk is from an octopus inking. I love the packaging, from the gorgeous boxes that hold the nail lacquer, to the large 18ml Inkk bottle. “An octopus communicates in color,” says Ashley, and this is the premise of our brand; communication in color.” What a great representation of the quality and beauty of Inkk!
Inkk Nail Lacquer
The only difference in the beautiful bottles is that if you create a custom nail lacquer color, then the color of the Inkk octupus tail is gold, which is what you see in the photos. If you select one of the shades from the House of Inkk Collection the tail is silver. While on the subject of the beautiful bottle, I want to note that it’s not just gorgeous, the cap is contoured and makes painting your nails a fun experience. I’ve never seen anything like this in another brand. Have you?!

The photo below was taken at night, and you can see the color is still amazing, and totally gorgeous!

Inkk Nail Lacquer

Inkk Nail Lacquer is really innovative! While it does have nail lacquer colors that are premade, and will have a story behind each particular shade described on it’s website, it does go a step further with it’s ability to customize any color you want. Anyone can now make their own nail polish shade simply—use a picture or a color spectrum. “Colors As You Imagine Them.”

You can do this on your phone or on your computer. Then, you can name your lacquer! It was very easy to do, and my only warnng is that it was very addictive. I spent countless hours playing around with all the various shades that my polish could be!

Once the free YourInkk mobile app is installed on your phone, you can have hours of fun! You can manage everything from the app: name your lacquer, create a story, share, and of course, make your purchase(s).

Inkk Nail Lacquer

 Inkk Nail Lacquer

With Inkk Nail Lacquer, you can design your own polish, or purchase a bottle from the House of Inkk Collection. In my opinion, with either option, you’ll have a beautiful, affordable polish of the highest quality, that is both cruelty free and vegan! Creating your own Inkk Nail Lacquer needs to be done online; the Collection Nail Lacquer is online, and at exclusive retailers across Canada and the United States.

Stay tuned for my next Monday mani post. I will have photos that will show one and two coats of my Inkk Nail Lacquer Moxie, nail art using one of the House of Inkk Collection shades, and a top coat.
