Blissoma’s founder, and creative director, is Julie Longyear. Julie’s line began with her soy candle range. As a budding herbal enthusiast, her first creative outlet was working with essential oils.  For several years, Julie was spending all her spare time and resources consumed with essential oil purchases. Depending on the oil, this, can be quite costly!

Julie, “loved the sensory experience, and had a bit of a gourmand leaning.” She writes that she is a “lush for tastes and scents” yet never really had a connection to synthetic scents and perfumes because they seemed rather cold to her. Once she connected with essential oils something really clicked, and “it became the olfactory companion obsession to my constant fascination with flavor in food.”

These are not real essential oils directly from plants but rather ‘nature identical’ oils created in a laboratory for cost savings.  Blissoma uses only essential oils for our scents, meaning they must be steam distilled, cold pressed, or CO2 extracted directly from botanical materials.”

CALM

Lavender and chamomile are combined with bergamot to promote relaxation and inner peace. This is one of Blissoma’s most most popular scents.

BALANCE

This blend will lift your spirits and relax the body. Chamomile, ginger, orange and other scents work together to promote harmony.

Blissoma has designed the aromatherapy soy candles to be both eco friendly and travel friendly. Each candle is cast into a seamless tin that can be reused many times.

Here’s the first thing that I loved about both of the scents: they smelled really lovely, in the tin, without even lighting the wick!

Both scents were calming, although not to confuse you…one is called, “Balance.” I have not used either of them in their entirety, so I am giving you the information provided by Blissoma for the “burn time.”

4 oz. Soy Candle Tin burn time is 20 – 25 hours
the 8 oz. Soy Candle Tin burn time is 40 – 45 hours

Need more reasons why you should consider buying Blissoma’s soy candles? Not only do they not use artificial chemicals in the process of creating our candles, their candles do not contain dyes.

They are made with only 100% pure botanical essential oils, and never any scent extenders. If you see such terms as: pthalates, colorants, or additives, those are scent extenders.  If that isn’t “bad enough,” scent extenders may also irritate people who are sensitive to smells.
