Canadian Flag Nail Art with Inkk Nail Lacquer

Canadian Flag Nail Art

I promise that my Canadian Flag Nail Art has nothing to do with the recent United States Presidential Election. In fact, the Canada Red shade was customized by Ashley Morgan, the Creator and President of Inkk, before the election.

Knowing that Inkk Nail Lacquers hail from Canada (alhough they are made in the United States), I thought it would be a nice tribute to the company to do Canadian Flag Nail Art. However, I wasn’t sure which red from Inkk would be best. Although you see a variety of shades of red when you to a search for Canadian Flag Nail Art, the Inkk Canada Red Nail Lacquer is the correct one.

So, what’s the magic behind Ashley creating the exact red shade for the Canadian flag? She matched the red from the actual Canadian flag by using the tools on the Inkk website! Ashley downloaded a picture of the flag, loaded it into the Create Lacquers area of yourinkk.com, and clicked the red color inside the flag. Then, she named the color and ordered it for me to try. Yes, it’s that easy for anyone wishing to create a custom color. Here’s a link to the post where I created my own Moxie shade!

I love the red shade, and knew that others would, too! Hence the Canadian Flag Nail Art post.

I was thinking of what I would wear if I were to take a trip to Canada.  It’s cold and snowing where I live (in Massachusetts). Therefore, pretty much what I’m wearing here, like nice warm, cozy sweaters, and mittens, I could just quickly pack in a suitcase, and head on over there.

No matter is you design your shade, or choose one from Inkk, it’s of course, the same quality; it’s easy to apply, and although you should wear a top coat for a lasting manicure, the Inkk shades are glossy without one.

The gorgeous 18ml bottles are 5-Free (of harmful chemicals), vegan, and cruelty free. I love that Inkk Nail Lacquers look as beautiful in the bottle, as on my nails! If you design a custom color, your package will be gold, just like the Inkk octopus tail on the bottle.  If you select one of the shades from the House of Inkk Collection the tail is silver, as is the package that it will arrive in.  canadian nail art

If you haven’t read any of my many past reviews, or purchased Inkk Nail Lacquer yet, you should know that Inkk is such an innovative nail polish brand. Inkk has cruelty free and vegan nail polishes that are five-free. Customers have the ability to make a custom nail lacquer, as the Canada Red for my Canadian flag nail art was, or to purchase one of the many that are on the website from the House of Inkk Collection. Many have specialized finishes, and be sure to order early, as there are also some limited edition collections!

Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd Review & Photos

Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd

Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd and My Private Cabana were two shades sent to me. The Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd is such an amazing shade of polish. The deep chocolate shade has beautiful, sparkling caramel flecks. Yes, I’m a very pale gal, but I believe that it will look great with all skin tones.

I’ve shot the photos of the Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd during the beautiful New England fall weather. I have two coats of Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd, and although My Private Cabana is not specifically a stamping polish, it worked well used on my ring finger. I added a top coat so I could wear the polish as many days as possible.

I hope you’ve read my other posts about Lauren B. Beauty, a cruelty free, vegan company. If not, here’s what you need to know. The owner is Lauren B., who has always loved nail polish. When she was little, she would frequently set up her own nail salon in the garage and paint her grandmother’s (and other family members’) nails. By the age of fifteen, she was obsessing over the newest nail trends so much that she would put nail polish shades in color groups and, during the hot summers, seek out Cape Cod Massachusetts convenience stores while everyone else was at the beautiful beaches!

Eventually, Lauren B. started her own brand of nail polish without the horrible chemicals of formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene, formaldehyde resin and camphor. Hence, Lauren B. Beauty is a five-free nail polish. In addition, Lauren B. Beauty polish is non-toxic, eco-friendly, and made in the USA.

I love the brushes that Lauren B. Beauty uses; they contain twice the amount of bristles that are common on typical polishes, and each of the bristles are pre-lacquered. All of the bottles have a special over-cap, which means you can use either a square handle, or a cylindrical one for more control. The Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd glided on incredibly smoothly.

As a busy mom, wife, and being owned by two big dogs I’m thankful that the Lauren B. Espresso on 3rd is very glossy, before adding a top coat. My nails dried very quickly, and due to the formula, I had over 4 days without anything more than very minor chips.

Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd

I highly recommend the Lauren B. Beauty Espresso on 3rd and My Private Cabana shades!

For more information and current pricing, check out the Lauren B. website.

Inkk Arctic Glacier Nail Lacquer Review and Photos

Inkk Arctic Glacier Nail Lacquer

Inkk Arctic Glacier Nail Lacquer is another cruelty free and vegan nail polish that I received from Inkk’s new Winter Arctic Collection. There are five colors in this limited edition collection, and they are now available for purchase on the Inkk website.

 Inkk Arctic Glacier Nail Lacquer

Ashley Morgan is the talented Creator and President of Inkk, and in a previous interview she said that she, “…wanted to capture the feeling of winter, arctic and chill, and steer away from traditional Holiday colors like red, green, and orange….Ashley also, “wanted to have a variety of light and dark and choose colors that represent winter as well as wear well with other colors (for fashion).

The photos in this post include one shade from the Winter Arctic Collection: the beautiful Arctic Glacier; and there is Desert Treasures, one of the lovely House of Inkk’s shades. The third nail lacquer that I used was Francesca, from the Canto Inferno Collection. Canto Inferno was the very first collection from Inkk. It represents what the House of Inkk believes in: stories told in color and communication in color.

Shown below are the bottles of the shades that I used. I love the beauty of the design, which so elegantly captures the name Inkk, from an octopus inking.  Each bottle holds a large amount of polish: 18ml.

I was thinking that the best way for me to describe Inkk Arctic Glacier was a dark teal. But, it’s much more complex and beautiful than just that. I came across a photo on Instagram, and I thought it perfectly captured the mood. It looks cold, could be winter, and it’s beautiful. Maybe there’s an octopus in that section of the sea!

I hope that you’ve had a chance to read about this newish (2013) cruelty free and vegan nail polish brand that is five-free of the chemicals Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor.

Inkk Arctic Glacier is easy to work with, and even when I was exhausted but had to keep redoing my nail art, every single time the polish applied easily, and gave a beautiful, smooth appearance. Although I always recommend you add a top coat, it is shiny without one. If you don’t like the shades that are on the website, then it’s very easy, and a lot of fun, to create your own shade.

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer and Polar Ice are two more of the five new nail polish shades I received from the House of Inkk’s new Winter Arctic Collection. Ashley Morgan, the Creator and President of Inkk now has them available for purchase on the Inkk Nail Lacquer website.

The gorgeous 18ml bottles are 5-Free (of harmful chemicals), vegan, cruelty free, and made in the USA. I love that Inkk Nail Lacquers look as beautiful in the bottle, as on my nails! One of the many reasons that Inkk is such a unique nail polish brand is it’s ability to allow customers to make a custom nail lacquer, or purchase one from the House of Inkk Collection.

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea is a deep, dark blue shade, and I would describe Polar Ice as being a light blue/gray shade. Both perfect for a Winter Collection. As Ashley told me in last week’s post, she, “…wanted to capture the feeling of winter, arctic and chill and steer away from traditional Holiday colors like red, green, orange.”

Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer

On my nails are two coats of Inkk Frozen Blue Sea Nail Lacquer. I used two coats for full opaqueness, and I wanted to report if, like all the other Inkk shades I’ve tested, it would wear as well. As of today’s writing, I am on day three without any chips whatsoever. Also, even though Inkk Nail Lacquers are not specifically intended/formulated for stamping, I was able use Polar Ice for the nail art on my ring finger. Inkk Nail Lacquers are definitely a luxury, quality nail polish brand!

Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New York

Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New York

Today’s post is Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New YorkNail Lacquer. It’s both cruelty free and vegan. All shades, but one, I’ve reviewed in the past. The new shade, Tyrian, is the dark purple shade that I used on my ring finger. Tyrian also has a new jumbo brush, which I will tell you about later in the post.

Here’s a photo of the shades for my Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New York, listed from left to right. Click on the link and you will find my original review.

  1. Tyrian – I’ll tell you about that later in the post.
  2. Grand Central

Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New York

For the Halloween Nail Art using Adesse New York, I tried stamping. I think it’s pretty clear what the images are. but if you’re not sure, please let me know and I’ll have to work on my technique. The only issue I had was that some images were too big for my small nail bed.

The Adesse New York Tyrian is a beautiful shade of purple. It’s the base coat on my ring finger, and it works for not only a Halloween shade, but as a Fall shade, and, as purple is my favorite color, an anytime shade! There is a new jumbo nail polish brush that the owners of Adesse New York are testing. I liked the extra thickness of the brush, but I also liked the usual brush in all the other bottles shown in the photo.

Adesse New York is “5 Free,” which means that the nail lacquers do not contain Toulene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor. In addition, there are no parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMO’s,  or triclosan! Adesse New York is just a super polish. It’s glossy, with or without a top coat. Whether I used the new jumbo brush that was in Tyrian, or the original one, it’s easy to apply smooth coats due to the self-leveling polish brush to help you get the correct amount of  polish every time.

Happy Halloween, and keep your children (both two and four-legged) safe!
